Depression

What is it? you tell me? For "Each heart knows its own bitterness..." (Proverbs 14:10)

"Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me?..."- Psalms 42:5
Why are you depressed?
Those who struggle with depression are those who have lost sight of all hope! But there is still hope, the rest of Psalms 42:5 offers the cure to depression.
"...Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God."
"Bitterly she weeps at night, tears are on her cheeks. Among all her loversthere is no one to comfort her. All her friends have betrayed her; they have become her enemies."- Lamentations 1:2Meditation: Do you feel this way? There is comfort to be found - "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles...".
Why is light given to those in misery, and life to the bitter of soul, to those who long for death that does not come, who search for it more than for hidden treasure, - Job 3:20-21Meditation: Why? Why? Whyyyyy? Why are you alive if you don't want to be or find no pleasure in it?
God knows. He has a plan in the pain. God wants people to seek Him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He's not far from any one of us. Sometimes pain is necessary for this process as many others testify -
